Cabin Crew Eligibility 2026 — Age, Height, Weight & Qualification Requirements
Before you apply for any cabin crew job, it helps to know whether you meet the eligibility criteria. Here is the complete, up-to-date 2026 checklist for becoming an air hostess or flight attendant with Indian and international airlines.
Age Requirement
Most airlines accept candidates between 18 and 27 years for freshers (some international carriers go up to 30).
Height Requirement
- Female: minimum 157 cm (some airlines 155 cm)
- Male: minimum 170 cm
- Arm reach: usually 212 cm on tiptoes (to reach overhead bins)
Weight Requirement
Weight should be proportionate to height (healthy BMI). There is no fixed number, but a balanced, well-groomed appearance matters.
Education Requirement
- Minimum 10+2 (any stream) from a recognised board
- Graduation is preferred by some premium and international airlines
- Fluent English is essential; additional languages are a bonus
Other Requirements
- Clear skin, no visible tattoos in uniform, well-groomed appearance
- Good eyesight (spectacles/lenses usually allowed)
- Indian passport and ability to clear a medical
- Confident communication and a friendly personality
